Winter 2012 Goal

"After drug dealing, human trafficking (both sex trafficking and
trafficking for forced labor) is tied with the illegal arms industry as the
second largest criminal industry in the world today, and it is the fastest
growing. (U.S. Department of Heath and Human Services" (IJM.org).

I am excited to announce my new goal of raising $300 for International Justice Mission. It is crucial that laws are being enforced worldwide to stop human trafficking. "International Justice Mission is a human rights agency that secures justice for victims of slavery, sexual exploitation and other forms of violent oppression. IJM lawyers, investigators and aftercare professionals work with local officials to ensure immediate victim rescue and aftercare, to prosecute perpetrators and to promote functioning public justice systems" (IJM.org).

Please join me in taking a stand against human trafficking. All profits from my winter sales will go to this wonderful organization. For more information about IJM please visit http://www.ijm.org/.

"But if anyone has the world's goods and sees his brother in need, yet closes his heart against him, how does God's love abide in him? Little children, let us not love in word or talk but in deed and in truth." -1 John 3:17

"Learn to do good; seek justice, correct oppression; bring justice to the fatherless, plead the widow's cause." - Isaiah 1:17

Summer Scarves

"There are more than 30 million slaves in the world today, more than in any point in human history" (notforsalecampaign.org). That is a crazy number that is hard to comprehend, but it is a number that we need to do something about.

When you order a Wrapped In Peace scarf you are helping take a stand against that number. All profits from my sales go to charities that are working towards ending modern day slavery. My current goal is to raise $350 for World Vision's Trauma Recovery Center for sexually exploited women and children. Please view the video on the following link to learn more about the work World Vision is doing to help this cause: http://donate.worldvision.org/OA_HTML/xxwv2ibeCCtpItmDspRte.jsp?section=10370&item=1445844

Housing, counseling, education and vocational training are extremely important in the recovery process for girls who have been freed from human trafficking. I would be so grateful if you joined me in raising money to ensure that women around the world are receiving the care and support they need to rebuild their lives.
